Remhaven Privacy Policy
Last Updated: July 9, 2026
Welcome to Remhaven, a text-message-based family memory journal available at remhavenapp.com and app.remhavenapp.com (collectively, the “Service”). The Service is operated by Remhaven LLC (“Remhaven,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information with third parties for their marketing or promotional purposes. By using Remhaven, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly. When you create a Remhaven account, we collect your name, email address, and mobile phone number. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor collects your billing information (see “Payment Information” below).
Information about your family. To personalize your experience, you may choose to share your child's first name and birthdate or age. This is optional and used solely to tailor the Service to your family (for example, timing prompts around your child's age).
Content you submit. Remhaven's core feature is text-based memory capture. Any text, photo, or voice note you send to your Remhaven number is stored in your private journal. This content belongs to you (see our Terms of Service), and we access it only to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, or to provide you with customer support.
Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, your payment is handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number on our own servers. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Automatically collected information. When you use our website or web app, we automatically collect limited technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device type, and general usage data (such as pages visited and features used). We use this information to keep the Service secure, diagnose problems, and understand how Remhaven is used so we can improve it.
Cookies. Our website and web app may use cookies or similar technologies for essential functionality (like keeping you logged in) and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some parts of the Service may not work properly if cookies are disabled.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and maintain your account
- Deliver the core Service (receiving your texted memories and organizing them into your private journal)
- Send you account-related messages (welcome texts, confirmations that a memory was saved, billing and trial notices)
- Provide customer support and respond to your questions
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Service
- Improve and develop new features
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your family's journal content to train third-party advertising systems, and we do not sell it.
3. Our SMS / Text Messaging Program
Because Remhaven is built around text messaging, the following disclosures apply specifically to our SMS program:
- Opt-in. You opt in to receive texts from Remhaven by creating an account at app.remhavenapp.com, entering your mobile number, and affirmatively agreeing to receive SMS messages from us.
- Message frequency varies depending on how often you text in memories and whether you have any account-related notices pending (such as trial or billing reminders).
- Message and data rates may apply. Standard messaging and data rates charged by your mobile carrier apply to messages you send and receive through the Service. Remhaven is not responsible for any charges your carrier applies.
- No sharing of mobile information. We do not share or sell your mobile phone number, or your consent to receive texts, with any third party for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Your number is used only to operate the Remhaven SMS program and by service providers who help us deliver that program (see Section 4).
- Opt-out. You can stop receiving texts at any time by replying STOP to any Remhaven message. You'll receive one final confirmation that you've been unsubscribed. You can resume messages by replying START.
- Help. Reply HELP at any time for support information, or contact us at support@remhavenapp.com.
- Carrier liability. Your carrier is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. For questions about your carrier's own privacy or security practices around text messaging, contact your carrier directly.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only in the following circumstances:
Service providers. We work with third-party vendors who help us operate Remhaven, including:
- SMS/messaging infrastructure providers (to send and receive text messages)
- Cloud hosting and data storage providers
- Payment processing (Stripe)
- Email delivery providers (for account and billing emails)
- Analytics tools (to understand aggregate usage of the Service)
These providers only access the information necessary to perform their function and are contractually restricted from using it for any other purpose.
Legal compliance. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Remhaven, our users, or others.
Business transfers. If Remhaven is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll notify you if this happens and your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
With your consent. We may share information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Data Security
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit — to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your journal content and account information for as long as your account is active, so that your family's memories remain available to you. If you close your account, we will delete your personal information and journal content within 90 days, except where we're required to retain certain records for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes. Backup copies may persist for a limited additional period before being permanently purged.
To request account deletion, email us at support@remhavenapp.com from the email address associated with your account.
7. Children's Privacy
Remhaven is a service for adults — specifically, parents and caregivers who create and manage an account on behalf of their family. The Service is not directed at, and is not intended to be used by, children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Information about a child (such as a first name or birthdate) is provided voluntarily by the parent or guardian who controls the account, for the sole purpose of personalizing that family's journal. If you believe a child has provided us with information directly, please contact us at support@remhavenapp.com and we will delete it.
8. Your Privacy Choices & Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and correct the personal information in your account by logging in at app.remhavenapp.com
- Delete your account and content at any time by contacting us
- Opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email we send

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
